Deft Digits, LLC (“Deft Digits,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates deftdigits.com and provides online music education, membership courses, private lessons, email newsletters, and related services.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Deft Digits, we may collect information such as:
- Your name and email address
- Account login information
- Billing address and transaction information
- Information you provide when signing up for lessons, courses, memberships, email lists, or contact forms
- Communications you send to us
- Information about your membership, course access, subscriptions, and payment status
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring pages, and approximate usage information
We only ask for information reasonably necessary to provide and improve our services.
Accounts and Memberships
If you create an account at deftdigits.com, we store the information necessary to maintain that account, such as your name, email address, login credentials, membership status, course access, and transaction history.
Our membership and course system is powered by MemberPress. MemberPress operates within our WordPress website and helps us manage accounts, memberships, subscriptions, course access, and related records.
Passwords are stored using WordPress’s password-security systems. We do not have access to your password in readable form.
Payments
Payments and recurring subscriptions are processed by Stripe.
When you enter payment-card information, that information is transmitted directly to Stripe. Deft Digits does not receive or store your complete credit-card number or security code.
We do receive and retain information associated with the transaction, such as:
- Your name and email address
- The membership or service purchased
- Payment amount and date
- Subscription status
- Stripe transaction or customer identifiers
- Limited payment information such as card type and last four digits, when provided by Stripe
Stripe processes this information according to its own privacy policy and security practices.
Email and Marketing
We use Kit to manage email subscriptions and send newsletters, lessons, announcements, and other email communications.
If you choose to subscribe, information such as your name, email address, signup source, tags, and subscription status may be stored in Kit.
Joining a paid membership does not automatically require you to subscribe to marketing email. Where an email opt-in is offered during registration, you may choose whether to join the Deft Digits email list.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We may still send transactional or service-related emails that are necessary to administer an account, payment, membership, or private lesson relationship.
Contact Forms and Inquiries
If you contact us through a form, email, or other communication method, we may retain the information you provide so that we can respond to your inquiry, provide services, maintain appropriate business records, and follow up when relevant.
