Here’s Zach, the June 2015 Student of the Month! Zach’s been taking lessons with me for one year, and he’s been blazing through all the classic rock hits, leveling up his guitar skills with a new song almost every week. Zach started out as a lead-only kind of guy, plunking his way through “Comfortably Numb,” “Free Bird,” “Stairway to Heaven,” and “Hotel California.” He soon shed his rhythm’s-for-sissies attitude when he realized all his lead guitar idols were monster rhythm players as well. So our latest mission has been to learn complete songs, start to finish, rhythm and lead parts. We just finished the epic “Stairway to Heaven,” but with no one to do the vocals justice, he and I performed an abbreviated instrumental version for the video below. Enjoy!
