Student of the Month: Will

Will has been playing guitar and taking lessons with me for the past year and a half. He’s eleven years old now, and he’s been fully infected with the AC/DC bug. He started on acoustic, strumming chord songs like Brad Paisley’s “Behind the Clouds” and Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours.” Then he brought me on stage with him to play bass and sing “Bad Moon Rising” at a Student Showcase last year. Will’s enthusiasm burned brighter the moment he got his first electric guitar last summer. He’s got deep instincts for playing hard and loud, so after he watched School of Rock, all he wanted to do was crank up the AC/DC. His old faithful “Back in Black” from his acoustic days immediately sounded more like it’s supposed to. His next big project with the electric was “Highway to Hell,” which you’ll hear him play below. I can’t wait to dive into “TNT” next, maybe some “Thunderstruck” and “Hells Bells” down the line too. Rock on, Will!
