Background
My name is Joe Walker. I’ve been playing and teaching guitar for over a decade, and in 2011 I earned my Master of Music degree in jazz studies from San Diego State University. I grew up in the Seattle area and started playing guitar in 1998. In the years since, I’ve studied, performed, and taught guitar lessons in a wide range of styles. I write articles at the Deft Digits blog and From the Woodshed, a practice journal chronicling my own study of music and guitar.
Guitar Students
I teach rock, pop, blues, jazz, folk, country, and anything that fits underneath those genres. My students range from age 6 to adult, from complete beginners to advanced professionals.
Location
I teach at home in the Laurelhurst area of Seattle. I can also drive anywhere in the region at additional cost.
